Peep peep!

It reminds me of my car a bit-minus the Peeps topper! : )

I decided to go through my Flickr photos for a blog topic. I just gave my niece the ‘Peeps’ hat they were giving away at the National Harbor store and she loved it. She’s a hat gal like her auntie. So you all know this is a Pennsylvania company? Here’s their fun VW that was at the Abbey Road on the River show. They were a sponsor there.
Who doesn't love 'Peeps'?

Well the heater is fixed-it was a bit chilly for a few mornings here.
Got my chipped molar fixed today-my mouth is sore, but more on the bottom where I didn’t have the chip. The bottom left teeth have been patched and worked on so much and with all the air blowing and water and stuff at the dentist, they are really hurting now. I have Anbesol right here whis is helping.
Now I can reveal something-B. had an online phone interview with LivingSocialdot com and they sent him a ‘Dear John’ email today. Very disappointing. I would apply if I had more experience. I was in the other room listening to him on Thursday and he sounded tired and could have known more about the company. He tends to talk fast on the phone and was asked to repeat what he said several times. Bummer.
We’re going down to Ocean City, NJ just for overnight coming up this weekend to spend time with some former h.s. classmates of mine. One of them opens his home and yard to us-third year I think. Mom and Sean are invited to the shore, but not the get-together, but to enjoy the beach and scenery. Sean may not go, he’s not sure with his work load. I think we will probably go to Atlantic City that evening and head home early the next day.
Anyway, they asked me to bring dessert-will probably do chocolate chip cookies and bring a few bottles of wine. : ) And it’s my mom’s 81st birthday on Friday, so it’s a gift to her too.

Had my second yard sale and it bombed! Only a handful of people stopped. ‘May’ try tomorrow. I only sold $14 worth of stuff.

Last night my back tooth on the top left got a big chip in it. I was trying to avoid the dentist until January-oh well. It doesn’t hurt-it’s just a bit sharp. And our heater wouldn’t kick on yesterday, so we had a repairman here later and he said it needed a control box-probably got wet from all the rain. No one came today to install it and it’s chilly in here!

Cupcake selling could be a profitable business venture

Standard

Yum-cupcakes!, originally uploaded by DianthusMoon.

This is a vendor(it’s funny as she has her hand in the money box-goes with my title!) from the mushroom festival. I don’t know about you, but I sure remember the day when cupcakes were about 50 cent each. Even today down at the Giant, 6 of them are around $3-4 in the little plastic boxes-NOT $3.50 for one cupcake like this place. I ‘indulged’, let’s put it that way. And when the woman (not this one) handed Bri the container, he took it and let it drop in the bag-you guessed it-the icing all stuck to the lid and I have to fix it when I got home. They were good, but I was expecting spectacular! Mine-a Strawberry Lemonade was a bit on the dry side. I got Sean a coconut one and he liked it. As they were so expensive, I promised Bri I would make him a flavor I know he would enjoy-espresso-got to get out the Martha S. cupcake cookbook!
I’ve been cleaning and sorting. Found a lot of stuff for the #2 yard sale-purses, shoes, tops, etc. Seems that is what they like, but I was hoping the guys would sort out their stuff more. I’m going to go look in some more boxes.
A third even-more public is in early November-can’t beat $10 a table-so will probalby do that. In general the house is in an uproar, but I don’t care. I’ll even add some stuff from Bri’s dad and also Mom’s jewelry. Wish us luck!
Keep ‘someone close’ (don’t want to say who in case the wrong people read this) in your thoughts and prayers. They had a phone interview with an very popular internet company that we have utilized in the past and it is a $$ saving ‘deal’ company. They need a rep for Wilmington, DE.and this person just may fit the bill. I know they got a call back because of experience.

Could I possibly be ‘that old’ to be in a photo like this? At least I’m a little 7 yr old…

That’s my youngest brother Ken-so cute. I still wear headbands too. : )
Yesterday found me going through bag after bag of my mom’s jewelry. She had brought out this huge container filled with sandwich bags of it. Some had prices written on them, others didn’t. Seems they(brother and her) put ‘all’ the jewelry in bags which is inpractical to me. I think she needs a rake hanger! I kid you not! On Pinterest they use an old rake head for the necklaces. I actually made my own with a foam board-shared that several years ago.
I went throught most of the stuff and some stuff was silver or too nice for what the price said. I put them in a bag called ‘keepers’.
I cut back the games on Facebook to see if I can get more done around the house. I do play games with Sean like ‘Who Wants to be a Millionaire’ and ‘Family Feud’ which take only a few minutes to play and use more brain power that some of the games. I played ‘Farmville’ for over two years and am growing tired of it. If you love it, by all means keep playing. I just needed a break.
Still looking to have another yard sale as the stuff is still in the living room. Brian’s dad sent some over last night-more ‘stuff’ to go out. That’s what I will do tomorrow-look through more clothes and boxes. I see a dent in the basement. ; )

Is this a busy time of the year? I hardly have anyone talk to me here (thanks to my few faithful readers) or on Facebook. I keep telling myself though I love to get comments, this blog is for me first. I think you all feel the same way about yours?

26th Annual Mushroom Festival, originally uploaded by DianthusMoon.

Wow, I’m really tired! Been a busy 3 days. Brian and I got up to Kennett Square on Sunday. You saw the pumpkin mushroom ice cream-not bad and not what you’re thinking. I would eat it again. Also got some Orange Chicken and Edamane rice from a new Asian cuisine place which was just okay. I bought a cup of mushroom soup and had that for lunch on Monday. Very good and rich, but the Longwood Gardens booth was missing and they have really good soup. Anyway, here are a few shots before I hit the hay. Took a whole trunk load of stuff to the Goodwill from the yard sale-stuff that wasn’t even touched. Will be looking through clothes, etc. during the week.

Kind of look like I am smelling mushroom soil-lol-but I was a bit impatient as Brian says he wants to take a photo and then it takes him a while to take it. I hope you got a chuckle out of the sign.
Quaint tea shop
Cute shop…first time in and will definitely go for more tea-the bags are huge and we got 3 cups out of one!
Painted mushrooms for contest
Creatively painted cement mushrooms for a silent auction. I should do this sometime as they give out so many to the public.
Fun house at the festival
Fun house! Took up a lot of a parking lot.
Beautiful inlaid wood mirrors
These were beautiful inlaid wood mirrors. Most over $1k. I wonder if he sold any?
And I can’t forget Zoey-
Pretty planter up in town

Seems the monarch butterfly like the tender shoots of the milkweed and these guys don’t mind eating the tougher leaves of the milkweed.
And-
Greasy-a breakfast I ate 5 yrs ago that I wouldn’t touch now-Scrapple (piggie parts) and greasy potatoes. I will eat eggs and bacon about once a week.
