I made this card many days ago and just added the buttons yesterday. It’s not really involved, but I do think it’s ‘sew cool’. I’m anxious for Brian to assemble my new Ikea wall desk

so I can do lots of sorting of my papers and things and get better organized by color and design. It’s crazy the amount of scrapbook paper I have! I do like to create my own backgrounds too.
Sean and I went do to my hometown today as I get my hair done down there every 5 weeks or so. Sean hadn’t seen my mom for over a month and we wanted to treat her to dinner, so we hit ‘The Olive Garden’. Mom enjoyed her steak dinner. Then we went to Borders (I half look at books now, I have such a collection that I want to downsize); Pier One (fell in love with a high back love seat in Paisley brown and blue) Almost $700, I can dream. : )

and finally Macy’s where they are marking down fall and winter clothes for 75-80% off! I am going to go through my armoire and get rid of things I haven’t wore for a while as I think I bought 10 new tops in the last week or so. It’s really the only time I indulge-when the sales are this good. : )
It’s snowing here again-we may get 4-8″-dang it! We took the Mariner there and it was doing good on the snow blown roads. We never had a SUV before. My almost 15 yr old nephew liked it and the interior which is black and beige. I’ll have to take photos of ‘Stroud’ to show you.
I dont’ know if I’ll get to the P.O. tomorrow , Carole, it may be Wednesday. I do know you have a lot of OW-OH mail to look forward to.
Fading rose
I finally got around to doing a few projects today even though I was tired from our jaunt to Lancaster yesterday. Sean insisted we go and it was crazy busy up there! We tried this one outlet center-waited 10 minutes to get in the place, but once in, there was no where to park! I think we looked in a 4-5 stores in other shopping centers. I did find a scrapbook store I hadn’t looked in on previous trips for some retail therapy. I hit QVC when I was getting hungry-the entire store was 50% off and crowded with mostly women my age! I got a few tops and a jacket for $30. They mostly need some buttons sewn on tighter and need to be pressed. We ate at a buffet that we enjoyed back in October but were less than pleased with the prime rib that was not cooked well and very fatty. They slapped this big piece of meat on Brian’s plate and it didn’t look good to him (or us) at all. I complained to the restaurant about it through email.
The most fun I had was looking around the ‘Christmas Tree Shop’. They have a huge store in Lancaster! I picked up a few more of the faux cupcakes there.
Today I’m feeling being in the wind and cold-my eyes and sinuses are dry. That was the longest I’ve been out since he middle of January.
The rose is one that was part of a bunch from Brian for Valentine’s Day.
Faux Cupcakes in holder
This is the cute cupcake holder that I bought a bit ago and haven’t made cupcakes for it yet. I happen to be in ‘The Christmas Tree Shop’ and they had these adorable ‘iced’ ones with the little chicks and Easter eggs. They ran about $1.29 each. Can’t beat that. I moved the holder near the window for light, but will probably have it on the dining room table.
Photo Hunt-Silhouette
Since we are having such a blustery, gusty day, I found this under ‘silhouette’ in my Flickr photostream. It’s from an old book I have about Betsy Ross.
The snow here is mainly melted, though we may have more by the end of the week. It’s nice to see green (and brown) grass again.
We may take a trip to Lancaster sooner or later. Sean got up ‘early’ with good intentions (10 am is early for him) and it’s almost 1:30 and we haven’t had lunch yet. Good thing the stores are open until 9 on the weekends!
Congrats to my OW-OH winner!
I did the generator thingie-chosing a number between 1-127 and it chose 1! So congrats to Carole, who is also a dear friend! I will post a package to you probably on Monday as I have to get my car inspected. I can’t believe you won, but so glad that you did (I loved your comment!)
I was brave
But…I was so nervous at the dentist’s in the waiting room! I quickly told the ladies waiting there not to be alarmed if I coughed. It’s such a scary cough, people think you are choking. Then a lady my age coughed and it was a deep, yep I smoke cough-awful.
I was there for 2.5 hours and waited a lot. They made the impression and I had to sit for 4 minutes with my mouth getting tighter and tighter as the gunk firmed up! I had to close my eyes a bit as some of it was on my tongue and felt strange.
The dentist drilled and drilled. My poor gums are sore, but also where I got the needle. At least it’s over and I didn’t cough! I almost did a few times when I got home, but I calmed it down. It’s like someone has dental floss (good comparsion) down this one spot in my throat and keeps pulling it up and down. I hope it’s not a polyp in that one spot, but I’m thinking scar tissue. I hope so.
Off soon to pick the One World-One Heart winner! I was hoping to have email from someone overseas as it’s the 17th already-nothing yet. ; ) It was fun and I looked at all the blogs. Thanks for sharing your creativity world!
Thinking flowers
I did this collage a few days ago and when I looked at it again, I thought it needed some florals. : ) That’s an old thread ad I had on a disc from a book.
I was suppose to drive to my hometown to get my hair done today-not up to it at all. If I go out one day, I’m really tired the next. I have to wait until next Monday now. I have a dental appointment tomorrow-another ‘maybe’. I told the receptionist when she called to remind me today. I have to get a crown made-so I will have to hold that gunk in my mouth, ‘without coughing’ for 5 or more minutes. Oh boy. We’ll see.
I don’t like to complain-but this has to be in the top 5 of the worst things to happen to me healthwise. The first-my gallbladder issue when Sean was a baby. I didn’t see him for over a week. At least that was in nice weather, same with the Lyme Disease episode. Being stuck inside is the pits. I try to do a little each day to feel like I am doing something. I did a little laundry and took down some Christmas trees on a table. They were more for winter decor, but I found some sweet spring and Easter things at ‘The Christmas Tree Shops’ to replace them. Wait until I show you the faux cupcakes in the cupcake folder.
Crossing fingers for tomorrow.
Oui Oui!
I got my retail therapy order from Overstock*.com-gee it took a while! I got some pretty scrapbook paper and tags from a company called 7 Gypsies. I really like this collage. The lady seemed perfect! I started another with different background paper and also a fan for a challenge.
Made dinner for a change-no, I’ve been trying to cook and mostly things that stretch. Sean is great at eating leftovers. I made pork tenderloin and oven roasted veggies. Pretty good!
I like metal art
This pretty metal willow tree had been stuck behind the sofa for a few years and I decided this weekend was the time to hang it up (and it is straighter than my photo looks). I was going to hand it over the black computer desk, but getting it over the desk would have been a small feat. I took down a John Lennon framed piece that has a black frame and we’ll put that over the desk. I thought it would be nice to hang trinkets off of it too. I added a little domino book to the bottom there from a pal from the UK.
Bri also hung these stars up for me.

Brian and Sean assembled the Ikea bed yesterday (mostly Brian). He bought the same bed that he bought 7 years ago as it was a good price and the only one that fit in his room. The only issue-the directions, as they did 7 years ago, tell you to put the one set of support feet on in the wrong direction! Bri brought the old piece in again from outside and the feet were the opposite direction! You’d think someone would have caught that in the directions and fixed it in all this time. Sean said the new bed is a bit too firm-lol
I’m still looking at OW-OH blogs-over 700 now. I am getting a bit of eye strain, so I hope to divide the last 100 or so to about 25-30 a day. Where there is a will, there’s a way!
Photo Hunt-Education
This is the booklet I received and got ‘autographed’ at the end of the ’72-’73 school year. I was in ‘junior’ high. The school was newly built. Now my niece attends the same school all these years later. : )
I’ve been in touch with many of the people who signed this book 38 years ago-mainly because of Facebook.
