Photo Hunt-Colorful

Colorful painted sidewalk, originally uploaded by DianthusMoon.

This is one of the colorful displays found at the Philadelphia Flower Show last year. The designs look a bit like Easter eggs, don’t they?

Pulling floss to make something for my mom for her upcoming 80th birthday next month. I think I can get it finished-just have to start it!

Happy Weekend to you All!

Photo Hunt-Hanging

Huge shark, originally uploaded by DianthusMoon.

I could have used a hanging basket here as I have tons of photos of them. I always look at my Flickr photostream and do a search. I came across ‘Mr. Shark’, who was seen in the Shipwreck Museum in Fenwick Island, DE. I just saw him a few weeks ago when we stopped in to see if there were any new exhibits (it’s free and you can take photos). Sure enough, he still was. I think many visitors miss him because you need to look up as he’s so close to the ceiling. And when you are done checking out the treasures, you can go downstairs and shop in Seashell City, one of the best souvenir places in the area.

Photo Hunt-Triangle

Last September, I went to a stitch-along at the Chadds Ford Historic Society and got to meet some online pals. I haven’t been back yet, but I also haven’t stitched a whole lot this past year.
This is a birdhouse crafted to look like the building I was in! Look at all the triangles along the roof line. Beautiful craftsmanship!

Update
Today I received my letter that I was excused from the jury selection people-two women-perhaps they understood my dilemma at this time. I have a feeling I’ll be called again in the future.

Photo Hunt-Free

Standard

This was a difficult hunt. I was looking through my sets and came upon the ‘free’ day at the Brandywine River Museum back in January 2009 in honor of the passing of Andrew Wyeth. Shown are the interesting college hoods that he received-21 in all-for honorary degrees in Fine Arts. Pretty amazing, don’t you think?
Brian and I also got to see ‘Christina’s World’ as it was on loan from the Met in NYC. We weren’t allowed to take photos of that.
I believe there is another free day coming up at the Museum on July 12th in honor of Andrew’s birthday. : )

Another neat thing is to have Victoria Wyeth, Andrew’s granddaughter give you a guided tour at the museum, which she does several days a week.

Purple and lime orchids, originally uploaded by DianthusMoon.

Here’s some exotic orchids from always reliable Longwood Gardens. (Make note to go in the next week or so).

Please keep my husband Brian’s dad Fran in your thoughts and prayers. He has something going on and is in the hospital now. He’s had GI issues for months and months and refused to go to the doctor. His RBC was low as was his BP. He had a CAT scan on his stomach and his colon has pockets, but not sure if that being irritated is his main problem.
I’ll probably go see him tomorrow. He was always quite heavy in the 240+ range . Now he’s like 160. He just had a birthday on the 23rd-turned 87!

This is a few years old, but I really like how the light sparkles in my little pond. I need add a waterlily in there this year. I saw one coming up, but it’s smaller than a dime. I usually have one or two residents living in there. Last year’s ‘couple’ passed as we had to fish them out, I mean Bri fished them out! This year there seems to be only on critter in there and he tends to hang out where I have to step to fix the pump. He better watch out. : )

Photo Hunt-Half

Mom’s Reflection, originally uploaded by DianthusMoon.

I always thought this was the coolest photo of my mom-her better ‘half’ is herself! I have to give photo credit to her friend Jim, but it was mom’s camera.
This is in Washington, DC in the late 80s at the Smithsonian’s American History museum. ‘All in the Family’ was certainly a tv comedy that looked at many angles of life. Brian and I just saw this exhibit in April of this year and they added Edith’s chair plus Archie’s hat also.

Treasure ATC, originally uploaded by DianthusMoon.

I am addicted to cutting up photos (copies) and papers, using rubber stamps and stickers to make them fit on a 2.5″x3.5″ card called and artist trading card. I’ve made tons of them and I have traded tons of them. The one showed here was given to my niece. I just bought a ton of new papers, so I’ll be busy on my cards again. I was in a bit of a slump, but I’m raring to go again. I think trading them with people around the world is one of the best things about making ATCs. I have great pals on Flickr-many from England. I have also traded on Swapbot.com and have gotten a card from Israel. : )

Here’s a link to my set on Flickr (almost 600!)
