The Eagles are in the play-offs down in New Orleans. The guys are in their Eagle shirts and have their eyeballs glued to the tv. The only good thing-I can stay on the computer as long as I want. Think I’ll go make a collage or something. I’ll let you know how it goes. Just don’t show too many Campbell Soup commercials of Donovan McNabb eating clam chowder-not cool.

JT’s Musicare Man of Year show
Thanks to Sean, I had a nice evening last night. When he came home from classes, he said he had read that James was going to be on PBS at 9. It didn’t take me long to realize it was probably the show honoring him from March of this year-Musicare’s Man of the Year award show to be exact. It was really a great program! Lots of musicians singing JT songs. JT looking so fine and modest in the audience in his dark suit and ice blue silk tie. Seeing the little 5 yr old Taylors-Rufus (I thought it was Logan) and Henry booging with their uncle Livingston on stage while dad got into ‘How Sweet it Is’. So this was a treat for me and I know what to ask for, the DVD for Christmas!

Celebration photos
We ate at the Olive Garden and both Sean and my mom had Mediterranean Shrimp pasta.

Mom and me toasting the birthday boy with peach ice tea.
The cake I made Sean-devil’s food-with chocolate sprinkles and candy corn (which he really loves) on a leaf plate.
Sean and his ‘Mom-mom’. He’s about to blow out the candles of course. The candle in the middle plays ‘Happy Birthday’. I told Mom she has two interwined orbs over her head here and there’s a big one in the window. ; )
20 great years!
That photo was taken twenty years ago…wow, where did the years go? He was an alert, big fella!
Here’s my Sean as Mickey Mouse-he was three years old. I made or embellished most of his Halloween costumes over the years.
And here is the most recent photo of him taken with his camera phone at Perkins.

He is really a blessing to me because he made me a mom-I always wanted to be someone’s mom. He’s been a great teenager and I look forward to seeing him mature even more in his 20s, maybe date a bit and get through college with flying colors. I like that he enjoys spending time with me and more recently his dad. They watch sporting events together now all the time. This makes me so happy.
So HAPPY BIRTHDAY, my pumpkin and only good egg. : )
Happy Halloweenie Part 2
Happy 19th Birthday Sean
Congrats to Sean
I am so proud of Sean! He got a ‘B’ on his latest Meteorology exam which brought his grade up. The teacher is a hard one to figure out as I may have mentioned earlier. Sean really studied the book this time and it paid off.
Now, one of the questions was as follows: ‘If you are walking north on campus and the wind is hitting your back, what direction is the wind blowing?’ It’s not what you think!
Let me know your answers in the comments.
So, now Sean probably has all ‘A’s and ‘B’s. Too bad the school and loan company can’t get their business settled. We used a company that the school doesn’t recommend and they aren’t communicating at all. Sean got an email that said they were freezing his account so he can’t register for next semester. Now, I have called the school and the loan company more times then I can remember. I had to give the school a call and they are still recording the incorrect amount from the loan company which is falling short of the tuition payment. We had to charge almost $400 on the CC for his books and it doesn’t look they we will see money to pay for them any time soon. In my day when I got a loan for school it was all cut and dry. What a major hassle thid has been.
I hope this gets straightened out by Monday, Sean’s birthday.
~~Congrats to my nephew Patrick who was recently inducted in the National Honor Society~~
Sean’s 1st day of college
It seemed like this event was years off and now it’s today. I can’t believe he is a college freshman. I am sorry his first few days will be tarnished because of the loan problem. I think I have that figured out. I tried to get help from the loan people, but the hurricane was messing with their phone lines. Brian has to get a PIN number to fill in the form electronically. And yes, we sent them the incorrect form. Wish he had read the letter from the loan people better. But the names of the forms are so similar. So it’s either wait 3 days for the PIN number or fill out the form and send it in through the mail. The loan people said that it will go through right away if he does it electronically, so that seems to be the best option. Sean at least is optimistic saying ‘We’ll be laughing about this in a few years.’
What I like about vacations…

This one in particular was a bit different as we had Sean as the main driver and he was driving his car. That gave Brian a tremendous break. Brian tends to be uptight on the road. I definitely felt a bit more relaxed in my cocoon in the backseat. I loved seeing Sean frolic in the ocean on his boogie board. He isn’t really a swimmer, but he had a grand time catching the waves. I love the familiarity of a place. We stayed in the same hotel we stayed in 5 years ago and forgot how convenient it was to the beach and boardwalk. We ate at the Marina Deck right next to the bay and watched boats come in.
Sean wanted to go to a pre-21 club his friends had gone to. He had to walk a few blocks to the place and the cover charge was only half price until 8:30 pm. He did go and we were watching out the window worrying about him being out until 11 in a strange town. He said he was ‘holding up the walls’ but he talked to a girl from the Pittsburgh area too.
I love the outlet shopping in the Ocean City and Rehoboth Beach area. We go to the outlets in Lancaster a few times a year, but the ones down at the beach seemed to have a ton of things to chose from. The Bass and Old Navy stores had the best buys.
Most of all, seeing something different is what keeps me going for a long time. I get tired of the same old thing and a trip, even a short trip does me the world of good.
