I don’t like the word ‘lazy‘. I can be lazy, like sitting and watching tv, but I’ll have something in my hand like cross stitching or a magazine (always looking for craft ideas and recipes).

I am truly lazy on the beach, though I’m still reading something or taking photos. This is one of my favorite photos of the last few years. This is probably Ocean City, MD. Love the umbrellas and the paraglider.

New Jersey’s tallest lighthouse awaits you at Pacific and Rhode Island Avenues in Atlantic City (walking distance from Showboat Casino). (Third tallest in the states).

Take an amazing journey into time and above it all as you ascend the 228 steps of the Absecon Lighthouse, one of the oldest lighthouses in the country. You’ll see breathtaking views of the Atlantic City skyline and up top you’ll come face-to-face with the original first-order Fresnel Lens, first lit in 1857.

My son and I climbed those blasted steps. We stood on the outside under the light and I got this shot. I was proud of myself for doing this being that I’m 48 and it was a ton of stress on my legs and knees.

That’s Brigatine you are seeing across the inlet there.

Roadview of Allegheny Mts, originally uploaded by DianthusMoon.

I could have showed our snow covered road from a few years back, but I remember I took this on the way home from State College last year-through the windshield. It’s to remind me that Sean is between mountains and over a river away from home.

I did this last year. A few friends and I were photoshopping photos for fun!

Missing Sean

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
By the way, the tech didn’t show up for the 3rd time and we were going to let him in at 9 pm to do the conversion on the tv. He didn’t even call to say he wasn’t coming. I can’t get over the sucky service. Dishnet better get some better subcontractors! It’s going to be either tomorrow morning-not holding my breath as I still have to call or Monday morning. Complete idiots. Go elsewhere people!
Oh this was a difficult hunt, but I located some dusty strings on this model ship in my son’s bedroom (reflected on his little dresser mirror). I didn’t want to pull out the guitar and I even took this photo:
of Bri’s old slippers (ew and never thought they would get blog time) and this:
Of a pretty tassle hanging from my curio cabinet.
Sherry is doing a Truth or Dare for her blog party. She had quite a dare! My goodness girl!
The only thing I remember is I dared myself to stop these freshman girls in the dorm from slamming their door every time they came in and out. I was older and it was rather annoying. It was before security cameras, I guess, like 1980. I got out the vaseline and coated the door knob. I listened for a reaction within the next 1/2 hour and I heard a ‘ewwwww gross’ as they tried to open the slippery doorknob . HA! I had a good laugh. And I kept a straight face when they told me about it too.
Great grandmother, originally uploaded by DianthusMoon.
Beautiful can mean something pleasing to the eye or better yet, to the heart. I always loved this photo of my maternal grandmother, the little baby here. Both Ruth, my mom-mom and her mother Caroline lived to be in their 90s. The little girl, Ethel Grace, died from pneumonia at age 7. My great grandmom had 6 children and another daughter Edna, who also lived to be in her 90s. I love how my great grandmom looked so pleased to have these little girls as she had trouble conceiving when she was first married. They are beautiful to me.
And the winner of my 4th Anniversary Blog giveaway is….drumroll…
RO!!!! from A Hint of Home blog! Ro’s a new visitor, which is nice. Congrats! I need your snail mail address-send to diadsieatcomcastdotnet. Thanks. : )
Photo Hunt Wrinkled
Not to insult any living being, I chose wrinkled things from nature.
This is a nasturtium bloom. It’s a gorgeous orangey red. I had bought a few packets of seeds and went around and poked seeds everywhere, simple as that. I am now getting rewarded by these surprise gems in all hues. And you can eat them too-they taste peppery. Here’s a yellow one with the sun shining on it brightly:
Sunny Nasturiums
They tend to love the dry and sunny conditions we are experiencing now here in PA.
Study in color-favorite one, originally uploaded by DianthusMoon.
Someone remarked that my photo last week for the hunt was good enough for this week’s theme. That made me want to take some new photos! I arranged flowers from my yard in these cute little vases. I started to take photos and it took about 20 photos before I achieved what was in my head. Enjoy!
This reminds me of the Olympic opening ceremony last night-all the gorgeous colors in the dark!
Hmmm….most of my dark photos deal with Christmastime. This is one of my favorite nighttime photos of the fountain and light show at Longwood Gardens (it has saved me in the hunt more than you know, though I may have used this one before-I forget). The stars were hanging from the trees and I was actually behind where the people were sitting to view the show. Christmas music was playing too.
It’s going to be a pleasant day today. Sean is going to the beach for a daytrip with some pals. I hope he has a great time!
This was taken in early January, 06 at my favorite photo spot, Longwood Gardens. I don’t take that many sky or cloud photos, but I think this turned out pretty good. The silhouettes are topiaries.
