Winterberries and pretty winter plants

Standard

Winterberries, originally uploaded by DianthusMoon.

On the way into Longwood Gardens they have what I believe are red winterberries. They seem to be quite popular here as inside the conservatory there are these peachy colored winterberries. My neighbor has pale purple ones. I’ve got to get some of these.
I like the way holly looks against a background of white.
Looks like snow cones
Dried Ornamental grasses look completely different in the winter too.

I almost always get gifted with amaryllis bulbs every holiday. I found some this year for $4.

It’s fun to force bulbs as they brighten up your home and some smell heavenly like paperwhites.
And there are always plants like African Violets that bloom year round:

  1. Does the heart good to see blooms like that in the middle on winter!! Love the colour of your amaryllis and you certainly got it for a great price. The only flower I have blooming in the house right now is my poinsettia plant I bought before Christmas…I know it’s not really a bloom but hey it’s colour! lol xoxo
