Spring Fairy Collage Card, originally uploaded by DianthusMoon.

Wow, we had some heavy rain here around 6 am-sounded like a monsoon. Then it rained a bit more and the wind is kicking up and it’s in the 40s now. I’ve been sneezing a lot today, though I feel better instead of being congested.
I’m still messing with jewelry and found more odds and ends to sell. I was cleaning my 27 yr. old silver necklace that I bought when we were on our honeymoon in Cancun, Mexico and it broke in the middle! I mentioned it breaking on Facebook and a local friend said she could look at it. At least it’s shined up! It was terribly tarnished.
It’s so nice to have most of my craft supplies in order. I wanted scrapbook paper with roses on it and within minutes I found some in the box labeled ‘florals’.
This card had a cute forest animal theme that you can see through the fairy overlay. She was a bit smaller than 4″ x 4″, thus the butterfly border. I have done a few more that I haven’t upload, so I am 1/2 through my 365 at about 183. I am having fun!
Sean is off tomorrow and he needs his car inspected and the oil changed. There’s a little rattle under the hood too. He wants to go up to the Blue and White weekend at Penn State, so he wants it to run well. He’s usually nice enough to take me some place too.

James at the ACM Awards

Standard

I waited all evening on Sunday for James Taylor to make an appearance on the award show (I switched back and forth from ‘The Apprentice’). He came on about 10:50 pm with the Zac Brown Band and sang their song ‘Colder Weather’ and his song ‘Sweet Baby James’. I’ve never heard of that band, but Zac said he’s been greatly influenced by JT.
JT was smiling broadly when they all sang ‘SBJ’.

Monday I went to ‘Tuesday Morning’ and looked around there a bit and bought a few things like a box that looked like a big children’s book, a gnome door plaque for my garden and some rubber stamps that look like postage cancellations. I had some old earring jackets of Bri’s mom that were given to me, so I decided to see if there was a jeweler in the shopping center and there was. My main goal was to walk the entire length of the center as it’s a long one-I did half, but walked around the grocery store. It hit 75 on Monday (my sinuses were a bit bad though)! The temps are dropping a bit and we are expecting wind and rain soon. I also took a ring to be resized-thought it was a big topaz and it was a big aquamarine! I did get more money than I expected which I’d love to use toward new glasses, but we had a bill that needs to be paid. I did come home and fish out some wide silver necklaces to take soon. Back in 1995, we were burglarized and the theives got a lot of my stuff including my class rings and a ton of my marcasites. I was getting some of Mrs. C’s jewelry for holidays for the last 14 years and lots weren’t my taste. I bought this lap top with some I sold back in ’09 which means more to me than a wide necklace. I like costume jewelry too! The jeweler fixed my ring right in his little cubicle which I was surprised about.
My Mariner’s a/c won’t work so again we have to take it back to the dealership soon to get fixed. Bri said he saw something disconnected under the hood. Rats! I hope this is it for that vehicle.

Sunday, Sunday

Lil’ Cowpoke Collage Card, originally uploaded by DianthusMoon.

Just deciding what to do today. I may take a walk around the yard and maybe tomorrow go to the park. I feel like I need to get my creaky bones on the move. Plus I think fresh air will do my sinuses some good.
We really enjoy the Sunday morning ‘fix-it’ shows on HGtv, especially ‘Yard Crashers’. I think most of theses shows are out of California and more seem to be out of Canada. I surely would love to be crashed! Speaking of yards, we so need an outdoor tent as we get so many mosquitoes around here now. At the end of our property is a water reserve that was made when they built new homes and changed the road a few years back. I think that’s where the skeeters are coming from. We see geese and ducks on the water now also.
My collage is similar to one I traded a year or so ago. I happen to get scrapbook paper with demin designs and thought about the card and how much I liked it. It would be fun to do a series of these with other cowpokes in a bigger collage.

Happy day to all.

Hello Circus Collage Card, originally uploaded by DianthusMoon.

I am so ready for April! I already did a few April fool jokes on Brian and Sean and they fell for them. They trust me an awful lot! We had some morning snow which was gone by the time I got up. Mother Nature has a good sense of humor.
Monday coming up is suppose to go into the 60s. We also have to go to the tax preparer as Brian can’t seem to figure out something. Sean went last weekend and he’s waiting on a refund.
I had a week of congestion, coughing, a tickle in my throat, sneezing and now I dug too muvh dental floss into my lower gum and it hurts. I think the heater has caused dust overload and dry air. I’m bad about flossing and when I do I hurt myself. I prefer the water irrigation. Found some numbing stuff and the gum is better.
I need to go cook some catfish soon. The store is letting Sean off for an hour now and he comes home for dinner when he feels like it.
The card here was inspired by the ‘totem’ of animals in the middle. Bought a package of cards at Michael’s and cut out one of them for the card. I am really behind in my collages-should be over 200 and I’m about 178. I will have to get down to business to catch up to have 365 by August.
I was changing ‘knick knacks’ today on my 1940s open hutch that still had little Cmas things on it! I did the spring bunnies, fairies and mushrooms. I was in my china cabinet getting out my cool green glass egg and knocked a box of stuff on the floor and took pieces out of a few. Rats-but glad the plate I took two pieces out of was one I don’t use a lot.
Have a good weekend.

Take Flight

Dream Take Flight Collage card, originally uploaded by DianthusMoon.

I can’t believe it’s Thursday already! Like many of my fellow bloggers, news is a bit slow. I was busy Tuesday and went out late with Sean yesterday. I had bloodwork done yesterday too. My allergies (and both guys) have been bothersome to say the least. We are better today-maybe it’s the rain? It’s been chilly and rainy today.
Probably sick of hearing about the craft area, but I made more work for myself as I decided to replace the 3 drawer plastic cabinet with boxes. I happen to see that AC Moore had a 50% off coupon on Facebook (a very nice feature of FB) and got another scrapbooking box last night. I think I need 4 more (ha ha). Those boxes make my crafting a lot easier!
The card here was one I was making with a resist technique. I used a white crayon in a few places so they would stay white when I added the orange and green. Didn’t quite work. I think it’s a cute card.

Collaged mirror

I showed you this planned craft project a week or so ago and when I was waiting to go to the eye doctor (twice!) last week, I decided to start glueing it all down. I added the little sachet and also the pen and ink item as there is a lot of writing on this project. I think I’m pretty much finished. I may add ribbon over the pearls around the edges. I haven’t added any hangers on this and had to prop it up to photograph it.
Today my tummy is bothering me a bit as I took too many herbal capsules (I think it’s the kelp, but feeling better), so I sat down and assembled this new jigsaw puzzle in under 15 minutes:

My friend Angela showed me a cute house with a red, white and blue theme and porch and said I should make one on a card. So I made a pink and green one:

Tomorrow I will be getitng my hair done and visiting my mom.
