If only….right? Wow, if we had a wee fraction of that $340 million we could really change a lot of people’s lives. No loan, pay off mortgages for everyone, go on dream vacations, etc. But those are material things. I wouldn’t be happy unless I donated to cancer research and a million other things.
And blogger pals…would you like to go the link below for me? I had one person do it who doesn’t even know me. I can take what they dish out, but I’d rather have people do the description part who have read my blog or talked to me on the phone. Better yet-met me in person. So my ‘pal’ in Kansas or Los Angeles-why don’t you introduce yourself?
I’m BOLD-no one else in my family blogs! ; )
I’m nervous and tense-yeah-about to take out a big old loan-that would make any one shake in their shoes.
Introverted-I don’t need other people around me all the time, but when I am around people I like, they know it.
Powerball update-OMG!!!! No one won again.

Happy Valentine’s Day

The Anne Geddes website sent me the link to this, so I am sharing one of the cute babies with all of you. Isn’t this little one precious?
Snowfall
Cottonball land
It truly is a beautiful sight to behold. Glad it’s Saturday as we could stay in and watch the snow fall from about 3 pm on. It’s sticking to all the bushes around the house and really looks like the cotton growing down south. Hopefully I can go out tomorrow and take a few photos. (And I get to wear my new boots-finally! Thanks ma!)
Didn’t do too much today. Brian carried two big boxes down the basement and I cringed upon seeing the piles and piles of magazines all over the place down there. I grabbed a big armful (after choking on the dust) and went through most of them. I need to repeat that activity about 100 more times so I can work my way over to several boxes that I need.
Filling up three boxes didn’t even make a dent in the kitchen. The one box contains my copper molds and other knick knackie things. I have a long way to go.
I just placed an order with Silkweaver. Only my second order in about 4 yrs. I know some of my stitching friends are fainting as they read this. I got the Ocean Fantasy mixed color for my little Cape May design that finally arrived. And I asked for a couple of samples from this grouping. I hope they send me a couple of funky colors. I would like the challenge of finding the perfect pattern to go with the colors.
I made spaghetti and meatballs, but was in the mood not to cook. But I just didn’t know what I wanted to eat. I had clipped a recipe for oven fried chicken earlier, but I didn’t have the pieces of chicken called for. A picnic on a snowy afternoon would have been awesome.
Don’t think I’m not counting the days until I have a new oven, etc.!
We’re approved!
Yippee! The lady from the bank called a few hours ago and said we had great credit and we got the home equity loan. I was so happy that I went and cleaned out two cabinets! You sure find some interesting things in cabinets. The first cabinet I cleared out had my nice mixer on a stand that’s almost 22 yrs old ( I’d love to splurge and get a KitchenAid).
I have a daunting task ahead of me, and about 10+ more big boxes to fill. Why do I have so many jars of pickled stuff? It’s mostly Brian’s and he said to toss it. I better tell my mom not to give him anything else that’s pickled or in a jar. I’m not crazy about smelling oils and stuff and wondering if they are still edible. ‘When in doubt’, throw it out’ is a great motto.
Let it snow?
We are expecting our second snow event of the season tomorrow-maybe from 5-10″! I’m just happy it’s over the weekend and the guys don’t have to drive to work and school in it. Hopefully that will be it for the winter. I am getting itchy to see if any of the bulbs I planted made it. They weren’t easy for me to plant last year. I have some giant red tulips that I really want to see along with new irises and lilies.
Cosmo my cat was so cute this morning. When I wasn’t getting up, he came into the room, got up on the bed and stretched the whole length of his body right next to me. He wanted me to get up! I got him some Cosmic catnip in a bag as a treat and he has it almost destroyed. I got my $2 of entertainment watching him bat and chew that toy!
I’ve learned some sad things in the last few weeks. The guy that was a freshman with Sean who got killed, was at the wrong place at the wrong time. Seems an automotive school in that area likes to drag race along this long stretch on road and Colin happened to be turning right when the gang there was at it.
Then I read in Mindy’s blog about Laura, a fellow stitcher that passed away suddenly last Friday. Not sure what happened.
My sister-in-law had a customer who recently was murdered where she worked at a catering business. All these people were so young and probably had many more years ahead of them. God bless them and their families.
