Show and Tell-My collection of Pink Glassware

Standard

My collection of Pink Glassware, originally uploaded by DianthusMoon.

This is my collection of pink glassware. I’ve had the pink cup and saucer for many years. I purchased the cake dish from a friend off of eBay. The other items were found at thrift shops or the Goodwill. Does anyone know what the small bowls are for? One has a little handle on it.
I think these all are perfect for Easter and spring. I need to take the snowmen out of the front window now! Come on spring!!

  1. Those are lovely. My mom gave me a set of pink glassware when I was young for my hope chest. All I have left is the cake plate now. Wished I had the whole set but with time and all my moves through the years they got lost. Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful valentines day! Elena

  2. Gorgeous pink…is this Depression Glass? They go for ‘big bucks’ at antique stores!!!

Hope you can find time to stop by my 2nd edition of three installments of my troll collection if you haven’t yet.

    Happy Valentine’s Day!!!

  3. I love this stuff, and it’s so lovely to behold all grouped together. I used to have the cookie jar and a couple other pieces, but I haven’t a clue what happened to them now. I’m thinking the little bowls are “finger bowls” but I’m not positive. Thanks for sharing a little bit of spring. I still have my Valentine/winter things out too.

  4. I love Depression glass. I inherited a green footed bowl in a similar pattern to your footed cake plate, and I’ve collected pieces here and there. Your pieces are just gorgeous. I imagine those small bowls are probably dessert or sherbet bowls.

Have you checked out Main Street antiques just outside of Newark, DE? They have some nice stuff, and we’d stop in every once in a while when we lived down there. Defintely worth checking out when you’re in the area. It’s down on Rt 2, just outside of downtown Newark. There’s an Outback in the same plaza.

  5. Hi, love the pink glassware. You should check and find out what depression glass patterns you have, though not all pieces might be depression glass. The small bowls, and the cup and saucer, and the cake plate look like depression ware.
Sherberts generally were footed classware, looked like wide wine glasses. Your bowls were probably small relish/codiment/candy dishes.

I am partial to the pink depression glass myself, and I have some green. I sold the yellow and light blue. I also have a few cobalt blue pieces.

We had a great Fanc y Nancy Valentines Day party here for my Granddaughter and 3 of her friends and their moms.
The girls got all dressed up. I will send photos.
I decorated and put up my Valentine Tree. We had heart shaped sandwiches, cranberry sauce, strawberries, red apple sauce, all keeping in the red theme.
We played Valentine Bingo and the girls made Valentine necklaces.
A fun time was had by all. Looking forward to Spring here too. Angela
