Ancient tree sequoia, originally uploaded by DianthusMoon.

This was taken at Longwood Gardens on April 25th. I thought it was interesting to see this as we don’t grow Sequoias in PA.! the info said it started growing in the year 312 and was cut down in 1914. Interesting!!

Very interesting indeed!! I have never seen one…
Happy hunting and happy weekend π
Interesting info. That tree must have looked massive.
Have a great weekend!
Wow – just counting the rings was a year-long job! Cool.
Have a great weekend.
nice photo
I live in the land of Sequoias, they are really wonderful trees.
Nice picture!
That’s amazing!
What a wonderful photo! Truly amazing that those trees live so long and have seen so much history. If they could only talk.
Mine is up…come on over!
Wow. That’s super facts and one HUGE tree. I’d love to see it in person.
Sorry for taking such a long time to drop by. Nice and meaningful! We should preserve our forests and do less logging.
FYI, this was my pick for site of the day, it’ll go live when my post publishes (I will be on time this week LOL!!! I just set up my post).

Very interesting entry ! Thanks for sharing.
Fascinating shot. Congratulations on being chosen as site of the day.
Hey! This is so cool! I can’t imagine how large that tree must’ve been! Did it say? 1600 hundred years sure is a long time!
Fascinating isn’t it, to think that a tree could live so long, all the things it must have lived though. I wonder who had the patience to count all the rings π
Well done for being site of the day! Well deserved!
huge tree! makes me think of the wonders of the Lord.
Interesting photo, Diane. We don’t hvave trees like that in south Florida, either. Blessings!
really cool! I think a friend of mine just went to Longwood Gardens last week. Great picture!
That’s a great shot. Amazing trees.
Wow! That’s a big one! π
I definitely would not expect to see a Sequoia in PA.
