My mom and I took about 150 photos on Thursday, which helped as I couldn’t think of anything practical! There were vintage tractors on display, so thank goodness for these practical and hardworking machines. And I have a family connection with the name Deere! My maternal great grandmom’s maiden name is Deere! My grandmom told the story of how John Deere had a fight with his brother ‘who ever-could be William’ and because of that, he didn’t go into the plow/tractor business with John. I looked up his bio again and one said he was one of three boys, so maybe there is some truth to the story, but our side of the family didn’t have Deere money. I’m not saying he isn’t a distant relative, because that’s an unusual name. Speaking of which, I read that Deere had a daughter named Jeannette and my mom’s name is Jeanne. Wonder if my grandfather knew this as John was suppose to be his great uncle?
Another side note; several years ago another Deere relative’s obituary was in the paper and she lived in Chadds Ford, a stone’s throw from here. Small world.

For some odd reasons, I love tractors. I want one and have no reason to have one. So I go to the tractor pulls and enjoy them there. Weird huh?
hi, I am on week 4 with sinus and bronchitis problems. Dena and Jessica have had them too. The weather being unusually mild has everybodys allergies in an uproar.
We are supposed to go upstate on Wednesday, but I am not going. I can barely climb my stairs, my lungs are so congested, so walking around Kycut mansion and grounds is out for me.
I really enjoyed your photos of Longwood.
I like that they decorate for the fall.
Oh, those bulbs they are planting, looks like it will be a wonderful spring.
Unfortunately, I have to remember that this is my worse time for allergies, and not plan any trips. We have had very few leaves change color so far, how about you?
The Montauk daisies are starting to bloom, but even they are confused, it is so warm, I think they are afraid to open, ha ha.
Take care, Angela
That’s a lovely, colorful pic for this week’s theme. Have a great weekend!
Hey Dianne!
Imagine my suprise when I came to your blog and saw the Halloween tags you purchased from me from Ebay on your darling Halloween tree! It gives me such joy to see my work being enjoyed by others. I see you bid on the Christmas tags I just posted. I must say they are awesome! Especially the 1950s kids. I hope you have the winning bid!
Thanks for sharing your picture of the tags and Halloween tree!
Smiles-
Tootie
