2 figure ‘8’s and I don’t mean ice skating!

Standard

Another very warm day through most of the country. I didn’t even venture out.

But look what I found last night when I was watering my flowers (yes still doing that because they still look fairly decent):

2 cukes

Very unusual to be still getting veggies in October! But Bri just piped in that he planted these late. We still have a few tomatoes clinging to the vine. I’d like to make some green fried tomatoes, but I didn’t feel like picking them the same time I got the cukes.

We had whole wheat spaghetti and turkey meatballs. The Classico spaghetti sauce was the three mushroom kind-very good. And after dinner I make a quick Pillsbury pumpkin bread:

Pumpkin bread

My sister-in-law is doing my hair tomorrow, so I’ll take them a loaf for their dinner. These are the mini loaf pans.

And it was about 88 degrees today! Unbelievable!

  1. 88 degrees? Good heavens!!

Fried green tomatoes sounds so delicious. We had one tomato plant this year, but the dog ate it before it produced any tomatoes. 😦

  2. I’ve never had cukes in October, but it would be wonderful. Brian was smart to plant some late!

LOL with Barbara and her tomato plant. She sounds like me with tomatoes! I am not too successful, but I try hard.

88 is the same as we had yesterday. Although on the news they said it hit 90 degrees. I think the hot spell is broken now and we will be getting back to normal. I am looking forward to cooler weather.

  3. forgot to say how good the pumpkin bread looks. It’s the season for pumpkin bread. I am thinking of making some soon myself.

  4. Wow, unbelievable how hot you guys are still having it…we were having above normal temps also but the last couple of days it’s cold and rainy, so more normal October weather! lol Those pumpkin loaves look so yummy…I’m sure your sister in law will appreciate getting one:-) xox
