This was taken about 1991-92 when we went up to near Penn State for the wedding of Brian’s cousin. Brian’s mom was still with us (she passed on in ’96) and this was a little church behind the cemetery where most of Brian’s maternal relatives rest (including his mom now). Brian believes his mom went to church here, way out in the sticks. I think because of taking this photo, I got an interest in the design and architecture of other churches, thus taking photos of them in my travels. This is such a simple, but beautiful place and I wonder if it’s still standing.

That is an awesome little church… What a great memory and a wonderful post for todays topic. It obviously has been a source of inspiration for you.
My first Photo Hunters post is up!
I just love old buildings like this, especially a church. Sometimes it’s the most simple architecture that is the most striking! Makes you wonder what memories this little church holds!!
I would love to be able to worship in a spot like that: it must be an awesome experience. It is one of the most lovely churches today.
Oh what a pretty church. Love the wood on it
