PHILADELPHIA (AP) — In ”Rocky,” Sylvester Stallone runs up the steps of the Philadelphia art museum and raises his arms in triumph. Now, the Rocky statue may find a home there.
The Philadelphia Art Commission votes on whether to place the statue at the foot of the steps…the vote was ‘YES’!
YO Adrian!!!
~Update-Rocky isn’t at the top of the steps as shown here, he’s in a grassy area near the bottom. It’s a 800 pound bronze statue. This is big news for Philly. : ) Sylvester Stallone will be back for a rededication tomorrow.

Hmmmm, a statue of Rocky? I don’t know… The pictures from your garden are lovely. I can picture you running around that bush, trying to capture the little critter on camera!
Actually it’s been around for about 26 yrs. They had it at the Art Museum for a # of yrs, moved it to a sports complex and because of the movie and finally decided it paid nice tribute to the city. I’m trying to remember if I ever have seen it-maybe at night at the old Spectrum (sports complex). Statues are considered art. People come to Philly to see where Rocky ran up the steps-then they can go to the art museum!
great stuff…ROCKY has ruled my life at least for whatever time I have been alive since i watched the first movie…
one of the greatest set of movies made EVER!!!
