Grape trellis, originally uploaded by DianthusMoon.

We just got back from a short trip to Washington, DC. We couldn’t ask for better weather! It was actually a bit too warm yesterday-in the 80s. This was a trellis/arbor at the National Arboretum, a place we’ve never been to before. I’m pretty sure those are grape vines as we have some too (but we don’t get anything from them). They were swarming with male carpenter bees who like to build nests in wooden structures. My mom has had issues with them for years as they were building nests in the wood holding up her rain gutters. I really liked the pagoda and bonsai section they had.
I’m uploading my other photos here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/diadsie/sets/72157623751418719/
